The 4th-seeded Magda Linette (Poland) qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Livesport Prague Open after defeating Rebeka Masarova (Spain) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:4). The Czech tennis player needed 1:40 hours to score four breaks and close the match.
Both players started carefully, winning their serve games without giving a breakpoint to their opponent. Magda Linette was the first to reach two breakpoint in the 8th game of the first set and succeeded to break and take a lead of 5:3. She served for the set and did not made a mistake to close it at her first set point.
The second set started in her favor and after a break she took a lead of 3:1. Rebeka Masarova equalized to 3:3 and both players exchanged a break to 4:4, but Magda Linette reached another break and closed the set and the match at her serve.
Thus, in the quarter-finals, Magda Linette will face the winner between Jana Fett (Croatia) and Viktoriya Tomova (Bulgaria).
In the other matches today, Oksana Selekhmeteva (Russia) eliminated Kathinka von Deichmann (Liechtenstein) after 2-0 (6:1, 6:2), while the third-seeded Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) defeated Elsa Jacquemot (France) by 2-1 (7:5, 3:6, 6:2).
