Lokomotiv Kaliningrad won the final of the Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship

The team of Lokomotiv Kaliningrad won its first title in the Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship after turning around the final match against Dinamo Moscow by 3-2 (21:25, 19:25, 25:23, 25:19, 15:12).

Lokomotiv Kaliningrad is the youngest winner of the Russian Women’s Volleyball Championship, as this is the 2nd championship final for Lokomotiv in only 3 years of existence.

The match started with a strong start for Dinamo Moscow, which won the first two games and was close to closing the match after leading by 21:23 in the third. However, with 4 consecutive points for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad, the match was saved.

The fourth game started with advance for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad, which went ahead by 12:6. They kept the advance for the rest of the game and won by 25:19.

The fifth game was mostly for Lokomotiv Kaliningrad, which finally got the match.

German player Louisa Lippmann became the most productive player for Lokomotiv with 25 points while Valeriya Zaytseva was amazing in blocking (7 blocks).

Ekaterina Enina scored 23 points (7 blocks) for Dinamo.

Lokomotiv captain Irina Voronkova was named MVP of the Final Six.
