Liudmila Samsonova won the title at the WTA 250 Tennis In The Land

Liudmila Samsonova won the title at the WTA 250 Tennis In The Land in Cleveland (USA). The 23-years-old Russian tennis player won the final versus Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich with 2-0 (6:1, 6:3) in 73 minutes.

This is the second WTA title for Liudmila Samsonova after last week she won the trophy at the WTA 250 Citi Open in Washington, DC. Overall, the Russian tennis player has 3 WTA titles in her career.

Liudmila Samsonova did not have any problems with Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Both players exchanged an early break in the opening of the first set, but after that, the Russian took 5 consecutive games to lose the set by 6:1.

The second set started equally, and Liudmila Samsonova and Aliaksandra Sasnovich won their serving games. However, after that, the Russian player broke her opponent and took a lead, which she saved by the end of the set and closed the match on the second match point.

Both are in the main scheme of the US Open 2022, which starts tomorrow.

Liudmila Samsonova will face Czech tennis player Sara Bejlek, while Aliaksandra Sasnovich will play in the first round versus Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
