Lukrecija Sabaityte is a Lithuanian track and field athlete, competing in sprints and relays. She is a two-time national champion, Baltic U20 silver medalist and one of the biggest talents in the country.
Lukrecija Sabaityte was born on April 8, 2002, in Vilnius, Lithuania. She started in athletics as a kid and showed great sprint skills, winning plenty of medals in school championships and junior regional meetings.
Lukrecija Sabaityte started her competitive career in 2016, finishing 4th in 200m at the Klaipeda Indoor U16 Events. During the outdoor season, she continued competing in junior events, winning the 100m and 200m gold at the Vilnius U16 Events and also finished 4th at the Vilnius City Championships.
In 2018, Lukrecija Sabaityte debuted at the national championships, finishing 8th at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships in 100m. Earlier in the season, she won the 100m silver at the Klaipeda Lithuanian U18 Championships and Voru Baltic U18 Match. She also competed in the 200m event at the Gyor European U18 Championships but finished 7th in the heats and did not reach the final.
Lukrecija Sabaityte did not reach some successful achievements and results in 2019, finishing 4th in the 60m event at the Lithuanian U18 Indoor Championships. However, she won the 200m gold at the Vilnius Season Opening Competition and competed at the Utena LLAF Cup.
In 2020, Lukrecija Sabaityte won the 200m gold at the Vilnius Lithuanian U20 Championships and finished 5th in 200m and 6th in 100m at the Parnu Baltic U20 Championships. She also competed at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships and Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships, but failed to qualify for the big final.
In 2021, Lukrecija Sabaityte competed at Nairobi World Athletics U20 Championships and Tallinn European Athletics U20 Championships in 200m events but did not qualify for the finals. However, she won the 200m gold at the Vilnius Lithuanian U20 Championships and 60m bronze at the Kaunas Lithuanian U20 Indoor Championships. During the season, she earned her first senior national championships medal, winning the 200m bronze at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships. Meanwhile, she earned the 200m and 4x100m relay silver medals Ogre Baltic U20 Championships.
Lukrecija Sabaityte started the 2022 season strongly, winning the 60m silver at the Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships. During the outdoor season, she won the 4x100m relay gold and 200m bronze at the Valmiera Baltic Team Championships, as well as 100m and 200m silver medals at the Siauliai Lithuanian Championships. Meanwhile, she triumphed with the 200m gold at the Palanga LAF Open Cup Competition.
In 2023, Lukrecija Sabaityte proved to be one of the top Lithuania sprinters. She started the indoor season by winning the 60m silver at the Klaipeda Lithuanian Indoor Championships, as well as the 200m silver at the Valmiera Open. During the outdoor season, she won her first national title, winning the 200m gold at the Palanga Lithuanian Championships, where she also won the 100m bronze. Meanwhile, she won the 100m bronze at the SK Cosma Summer Cup and the 200m silver at the LAF Open Cup Competition. During the season, Lukrecija Sabaityte competed at the Espoo European Athletics U23 Championships, but failed to overcome the semi-finals. In the 4x100m relay, she won the silver at the Valmiera Baltic Team Championships/ President’s Cup 2023 and the bronze at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships Second Division.
In 2024, Lukrecija Sabaityte won her second national title, triumphing with the 60m gold at the Panevezys Lithuanian Indoor Championships. She also won the 60m gold at the LAF Cup Open Competition and the 200m silver at the Dortmund Run & Fly Meeting.
