Lisa Vittozzi (Italy) won the 10km pursuit at the Biathlon World Cup in the German winter center Ruhpolding.
The 28-year-old Italian skier covered the course in 30:30.7 min and made only one mistake in the first of four shootings. For the Italian, this is the second success of the season and the fifth individual in her career.
Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold (Norway), who also missed only one of 20 targets, was second only by 0.7 sec. The 27-year-old Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold, who won the sprint, started the chase very well and was leading until the third shootout when she had to enter a penalty lap and Lisa Vittozzi took advantage of this to take the lead. The two were side by side early meters before the final, but the Italian was better in the last meters and triumphed.
Another Norwegian, Juni Arnekleiv, shot clear but finished third, 9.1 sec behind, matching her career best.
“Today I had the power. In the last lap I thought that now I can do it and go for it”, said Lisa Vittozzi.
In the ranking for the World Cup, Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold came out on top with 666 points, which surpassed the French Justine Braisaz-Bouchet. Today she finished in seventh place and has 657 points. Lisa Vittozzi came third with 606 points.
In the pursuit standings after five out of seven starts, the leader is Julia Simon(France) with 274 points, followed by Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold with 266 points.
