Lineth Beerensteyn brought the victory to the Netherlands versus Norway in UEFA Women’s Euro 2016 qualifications

An early goal of Lineth Beerensteyn brought the victory to the Netherlands in a match versus Norway from the Group 1 of the UEFA Women’s Euro 2016 qualifications. The Dutch footballer scored after a stunning shot from distance in the left corner of the post.

The Dutch team was not convincing enough in the match, which might be a result of missing their key players Lieke Martens and Jackie Groenen. However, during the match the Dutch women’s national team had higher ball possession and created more goal attempts, but both team made three shots in target each.

After losing to Italy in Friday, the Dutch team needed a victory to keep their chances to qualify for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2016. However, Finland made them a favor beating Italy by 2-1 and thus keeping the intrigue in the group, equalizing all teams with 3 points. Manuela Giugliano (39′) gave a lead to the Italian women team in the first half, but Jutta Rantala (48′) and an own goal of Elena Linari (75′) turned over the result.

In Group 4, Germany remains unbeaten after defeating Iceland by 3-1 with the goals of Lea Schuller (4′ and 34′) and Lena Oberdorf (45+3′), while Hlin Eiriksdottir (23′) scored for the guests. Meanwhile, Poland lost at home to Austria by 1-3 and remains without a point in the group.
