Linda Fruhvirtova qualified for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Rothesay Birmingham Classic

The Czech tennis talent Linda Fruhvirtova defeated Bernarda Pera (USA) by 2-0 (6:1, 7:6) to qualify for the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Rothesay Birmingham Classic. The Czech player needed less than an hour and a half to win the match.

Linda Fruhvirtova won the first set with two breaks in the fourth and sixth game, winning five consecutive games. In the second set, however, Bernarda Pera started strongly and lead by 4:1. Linda Fruhvirtova succeeded to return the break and equalized to pull the set into a tiebreak, which she won by 7-3.

Tn the next round she will face the winner from the clash of her compatriots Barbora Krejcikova and Tereza Martincova. In the first round, Barbora Krejcikova defeated Cristina Bucsa (Spain) with 2-0 (6:3, 6:3), while Tereza Martincova eliminated Viktoriya Tomova (Bulgaria) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:3).

The British tennis player Harriet Dart also advanced to the third round after defeated Anhelina Kalinina (Ukraine) by 2-1 (6:3, 3:6, 6:1).

Rebecca Marino (Canada) advanced to the second round after defeating Xiyu Wang (China) by 2-1 (7:6, 5:7, 6:3) and will face Emina Bektas (USA), who eliminated Shuai Zhang (China) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3).
