World runner-up Leona Hendricks won the women’s short program at the Figure Skating Grand Prix Series in Angers, France. The Belgian performed a triple flip, a double axel, a combination of a triple lutz – a triple tolup and received a score of 72.75 points. For her, this is the first competition of the new season. Kim Ye-lim from the Republic of Korea is second so far with 68.93 points, and the third position is taken by Japan’s Mana Kawabe with 68.83 points.
Two-time European bronze medalists Charlene Guignard and Marco Fabbri of Italy performed a great samba and won the rhythmic dance in the pairs dance with 83.52 points. Canadians Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sorensen with 82.38 points and Evgeniia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brissaud from France are in second and third place, respectively, with 73.17 points.
In sports pairs, the leaders after the short program are Deanna Stellato-Dudek and Maxime Deschamps (Canada) with 64.33 points.
The competition continues on Saturday with the voluntary program in the four categories. The French Grand Prix is the third race of the circuit this season.
