The Olympics, world and European long jump champion Malaika Mihambo, who was treating an injury last year, started the indoor season with fourth place at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting Dortmund. She cleared 6.65m in her first competition of the year.
The victory in Dortmund won another representative of the hosts – the European bronze medalist for girls Laura Raquel Muller with the best result in the world for the season of 6.81m and her personal best. Her compatriot Mikaelle Assani finished second with 6.72m, and the Serbian Milica Gardasevic (Serbia) came third with 6.69 m .
Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk (Ukraine) was also out of the top three. The Ukrainian finished sixth with 6.38m.
Filippa Kviten (Cyprus) finished 5th with 6.49m.
Laura Raquel Muller is a German track and field athlete, who competes in the long jump. She is the European U20 Championships Bronze medalist, as well as German U18 Champion.
