Konstanze Klosterhalfen recorded an awesome victory at 10km running in Cologne

The German track and field athlete Konstanze Klosterhalfen recorded an impressive 10,000m victory on New Year’s Eve in Cologne. The bronze medalist in the 5,000m from the World Championships in Doha in 2019 was ahead of all the men and women who took part in the race.

The 24-year-old German athlete finished first with 31:10 minutes. Konstanze Klosterhalfen crossed the finish line 38 seconds before the first man to finish the race. The time puts her third on the German all-time list behind Melat Kejeta (30:47) and Irina Mikitenko (30:57).

Konstanze Klosterhalfen is a German athlete who competes in middle and long-distance running. She is the 2019 IAAF World Championship bronze medalist in the 5,000m event. In February 2020, she set a European record in the indoor 5,000m with 14:30.79, the fourth-fastest time ever.

In 2017, Konstanze Klosterhalfen became the youngest female runner to cover the 800m in less than 2 minutes, the 1,500m in less than 4 minutes, and the 5,000m in less than 15 minutes. She is the current German national record holder for 1,500m (indoor), one mile (in- and outdoor), 2,000m, 3,000m (in- and outdoor), 5,000m (in- and outdoor), and 10,000m.
