Keely Hodgkinson brakes the world’s 600m indoor record

Keely Hodgkinson has made an impressive start to the winter season. The British athlete improved on the world’s all-time indoor 600m record after winning the discipline at the Manchester World Indoor Tour with 1:23.41 min. The previous record was held by Olga Kotlyarova from 2004 – 1:23.44 min.

Second, at 600m in Manchester remained Eirini Vasileiou (Greece) with 1:29.33 min and third was Stephanie Driscoll (Great Britain) with 1:32.47 min.

Isabelle Boffey (Great Britain) won the women’s 800m with 2:02.70 min, while Ellie Baker (Great Britain) won the women’s 1500m with 4:10.12 min.

One of Keely Hodgkinson’s biggest rivals in the 800m, the Olympic and world champion Athing Mu (USA), will have the chance to match the record at 600m at the Millrose Games in New York on February 11. Athing Mu’s personal best in the event is 1:23.57 min from 2019, when the American was just 16 years-old.
