Kathleen Ledecky broke a second swimming world record in a week

Ten-time Olympic medalist Kathleen Ledecky broke a second swimming world record in a week. The American recorded the world-best result in the women’s 800m freestyle at the World Cup competition in Indianapolis (USA).

The 25-year-old Kathleen Ledecky took the lead at the start and finished in 7:57.42 min, reducing nearly 2 seconds from the previous WR, set by the Spaniard Mireia Belmonte in 2013.

Canadian Summer McIntosh took second place with 8:07.12 min.

Katie Ledecky, who won a third consecutive gold in the 800m freestyle in Tokyo 2020 Olympics, also broke the record in the 1,500m freestyle a week ago.
