Kate Douglass won the Olympic women’s 200m breaststroke title at the swimming event at the Paris Games. The 22-year-old American swimmer took the lead after the first turn and held on until the end, finishing first in a new American record of 2:19.24 min.
It’s Kate Douglass’ second medal in Paris after silver with the US 4x100m freestyle relay.
Second in the women’s 200m breaststroke was the champion from Tokyo 2020 in the discipline Tatjana Smith (South Africa) with 2:19.60 min.
The bronze medal goes to Tes Schouten (Netherlands) with 2:21.05 min.
