Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) triumphed at the WTA 250 Transylvania Open tennis tournament in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) with a prize money of 267,000 USD. In the final, the former leader in the world ranking defeated the 8th-seeded Ana Bogdan (Romania) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) in an hour and 25 minutes.
The Czech won her first championship trophy in the last four seasons and the 17th overall of her career.
Karolina Pliskova, 31, made a total of four breaks in the match against only one in favor of the Romanian. The Czech tennis player has three wins in her three meetings with Ana Bogdan.
Karolina Pliskova has not had a single title since January 2020, when she triumphed in the final in Brisbane.
Ana Bogdan remains without a trophy from the WTA tournaments.
