Karolina Pliskova won the Czech clash from the second round of the US Open 2022 and defeated Marie Bouzkova by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) for 69 minutes.
Karolina Pliskova made 15 unforced errors against 12 for her opponent but succeeded to win the match with experience and good serve.
The first set was running equally, but in the eight game Karolina Pliskova broke and serve of Marie Bouzkova and this was enough for winning it. In the second set, however, she made two breaks and secured the win by 6:2.
In the next round, the 22nd-seeded Karolina Pliskova will face the Olympic champion Belinda Bencic.
The American Danielle Rose Collins also advanced to the third round after winning her match versus Cristina Bucsa by 2-0 (6:2, 7:5). In the next round, she will play versus Alize Cornet.
The French player Clara Burel eliminated the Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck by 2-1 (6:4, 4:6, 6:4) and in the third round of the US Open 2022 will face Aryna Sabalenka, who defeated the Estonian Kaia Kanepi by 2-1 (2:6, 7:6, 6:4).
