Karolina Muchova qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Ningbo Open

Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Ningbo Open hard court tennis tournament. The Czech tennis player defeated Jaqueline Cristian (Romania) by 2-0 (6:2, 6:1), who entered the main draw as a “lucky loser”. The 2023 Roland Garros finalist lost just three games and closed out the match on her second match point after 77 minutes of play.

In the next round, Karolina Muchova will play against Anna Kalinskaya (Russia). The Russian tennis player, who is seventh-seeded, eliminated Yue Yuan (China) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:3).

The fourth-seeded Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic) also qualified for the quarter-finals after winning by 2-0 (7:6, 6:3) against YeXin Ma (China).

Barbora Krejcikova will face Mirra Andreeva (Russia) in her sixth overall quarterfinal of the season.

The sixth-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil) also advanced ahead at the WTA 500 Ningbo Open. The Brazilian player defeated Katie Boulter (Great Britain) by 2-0 (7:6, 7:5). In the next round, Beatriz Haddad Maia will face Paula Badosa (Spain).
