Julia Simon won the 12.5km mass start of the Biathlon World Cup in Antholz-Anterselva

Last season’s Grand Crystal Globe winner Julia Simon (France) won the 12.5km mass start of the Biathlon World Cup at Italian winter center Antholz-Anterselva.

Julia Simon made only one mistake in the four shots and covered the course in 34:42.5 min. Thus, she reached her second success of the season and the tenth individual of her career.

Second at 8.9 sec was another representative of France, Lou Jeanmonnot, who knocked down all 20 targets, and third was the winner of Friday’s individual discipline, Lena Hacki-Gross (Switzerland), with a pass time of 20.7 sec and one miss at the finish line.

Julia Simon was in the lead for most of the race, with Lou Jeanmonnot taking the lead briefly after the third shootout.

In the general classification after 14 out of 21 total starts, Ingrid Tandrevold (Norway) remains the leader with 719 points, despite her 17th place today with four faults. Second is the Frenchwoman Justine Braisaz-Bouchet with 689 points, and third is Lisa Vittozzi (Italy) with 671 points.

It was the last start before the Biathlon World Cup, which begin on February 7 in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic).
