Last season’s Grand Crystal Globe winner Julia Simon (France) won her second 10km pursuit title after triumphing at the Biathlon World Championships in the Czech winter center Nove Mesto.
Julia Simon again dominated, missing just one target in the second of four shots and completing the course in 29:54.8 min. For her, this is the fifth gold medal in her career from the planet championship and the third in Nove Mesto after the triumph in the 7.5 km sprint and with the mixed relay of France.
The Italian Lisa Vittozzi managed to win the second place with a final sprint. She had the misfortune of making one miss in the final shoot and was 46.3 sec behind the winner. Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (France) came third with a pass time of 49.3 sec and with as many as four penalty laps.
Also in the top 6 are Sophie Chauveau (France) with three mistakes, Hanna Oeberg (Sweden) with two and Franziska Preuss (Germany) with one.
Beijing 2022 Olympic runner-up in the pursuit Elvira Oeberg (Germany) finished eighth by two faults and 2:05.3 min behind the winner.
