Joanna Jedrzejczyk is back in the game. The former champion in the Strawweight divisions for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has not competed since her epic battle against Weili Zhang in March 2020. Then, in a five-round fight, the two exchanged many blows, and the Polish fighter lost via split decision.
It seemed that Joanna Jedrzejczyk now wanted to continue where she had come.
“Everyone thinks I’m not in the UFC anymore because I haven’t fought in months, but I’m coming back and I’m going to fight the best. Probably Weili Zhang. I thought it will be with Carla Esparza, but she’s already confirmed that she will fight for the title”, said Joanna Jedrzejczyk. “I don’t see another match and I want to win the championship belt. Dana White has already made me an offer, but I’ll have to wait until November or December, and I don’t want to wait. I want to fight”, added she.
It looks like Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Weili Zhang will be shouting for Carla Esparza.
Rose Namajunas, who will defend her title against Carla Esparza, has victories over both contestants.
