Jessica Pegula qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open with a prize pool of 780,637 USD. The top-seeded American player defeated Paula Badosa by 2-0 (6:3, 7:6).

Jessica Pegula, who is the world’s No 3, made a decisive break for 5:3 in the first part, then took the lead in the score. In the second set, the American tennis player served to win the match at 5:4 but Paula Badosa stopped her with a break and moved the match into a tiebreak. In it, Jessica Pegula prevailed at 8-6 and ended the match after her second chance.

The next opponent of Jessica Pegula at the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston is Belinda Bencic. The Swiss, who is fourth-seeded, eliminated Ekaterina Alexandrova (Russia) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:3).

In the first set, the Russian allowed four breaks, while in the second part, Belinda Bencic won her opponent’s serve only once, and that was enough for her to end the match in 80 minutes.

The third-seeded Daria Kasatkina (Russia) also advances to the semi-finals of the tournament after 2-1 (6:7, 6:4, 6:2) success the American player Madison Keys, who won the title in Charleston in 2019.

The second-seeded Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) eliminated Anna Kalinskaya (Russia), who was unable to finish the match and ended her participation in the second set when she trailed 1:4. In the first set, the Tunisian won easily with 6:0, and the match lasted only 40 minutes.
