Jessica Pegula (USA) will defend the American honor in the final of the US Open 2024. The 30-year-old tennis player will challenge for the trophy in New York against Aryna Sabalenka (Belarus), after she managed to defeat Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) by 1-2 (1:6, 6:4, 6:2) in the second women’s semifinal.
Jessica Pegula showed great will to turn the match over after losing the first set disastrously. The American was literally swept 6:1 by her rival and it seemed that it would be difficult for her to get back into the match.
The second set went also badly for Jessica Pegula after her opponent made an early break, and looked that Karolina Muchova was on her way to an easy victory. Just then, however, the American tennis player woke up and showed that she would not give up so easily. She quickly broke back for 2:2 and then broke again to take a 4:2 lead.

In the third set, the world’s number six was the complete master of the court. She made an early break that allowed her to pull away seriously in the 3:0 result.
