Jessica Hull (Australia) set a new world record in the 2,000m during the Diamond League athletics tournament in Monaco. The 27-year-old Australian covered the distance in 5:19.70 min, improving the previous best of 5:21.56 min from 2021, held by Francine Niyonsaba (Burundi).

At Monaco Diamond League, Jessica Hull triumphed with the gold, leaving Melissa Courtney-Bryant (Great Britain) second with 5:26.08 min and Edinah Jebitok (Kenya) third with 5:26.09 min.

Jessica Hull is also the Oceanian record holder for the indoor and outdoor 1,500m, indoor and outdoor mile, and outdoor 3,000m. She also holds the Australian record in the 5,000m and indoor 3,000m.
