British gymnast Jessica Gadirova won the women’s all-around title at the European Gymnastics Championships in the Turkish resort of Antalya.
Jessica Gadirova, who already has four continental championship golds, was the bronze medalist in the all-around at Basel 2021 and also has a bronze at the World Championships at Liverpool 2022. She has now amassed 55.032 points after receiving scores of 14.100 points on vault, 13.466 points on mixed parallel bars, 13.533 points on beam and 13.933 points on ground. The Briton cruised to success after a strong performance on her final piece of ground.
Jessica Gadirova is also a team bronze winner from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and a world champion on clay from Liverpool 2022.
Hungary’s Zsofia Kovacs brought her country’s first all-around medal after finishing second with 54.899 points (14.100, 13.700, 13.833, 13.266). Alice D’Amato (Italy) took bronze with 54.500 points (14.000, 14.400, 13.000, 13.100).
The European Gymnastics Championships in Antalya continue over the weekend with the men’s and women’s individual apparatus finals.
