Jasmine Paolini defeated Lucia Bronzetti to advance to the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Jasmin Open Monastir

The top-seeded Jasmine Paolini (Italy) defeated her compatriot Lucia Bronzetti by 2-0 (7:5, 7:6) to advance to the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Jasmin Open Monastir with a prize pool of 259,303 USD.

Both players exchanged two breaks in the first set, but Jasmine Paolini succeeded to achieve another break in the 12th game to win it by 7:5. In the second set, they exchanged again two breaks, but this time the set entered into a tiebreak, which Jasmine Paolini won it by 7-3.

In the semi-finals, the top-seeded Jasmine Paolini will face the 4th-seeded Lesia Tsurenko (Ukraine), who eliminated Nuria Parrizas-Diaz (Spain) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:2).

The second-seeded Elise Mertens (Belgium) also qualified for the semi-finals after defeating Mai Hontama (Japan) by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) and will face Clara Burel (France), who eliminated Lucrezia Stefanini (Italy) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:1).
