Italian tennis star Jasmine Paolini qualified for the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in an extremely dramatic way. The Italian tennis advanced ahead after retiring of Madison Keys (USA) at 1-1 (6:3, 6:7, 5:5) due to injury after 2 hours and 20 minutes of play.
Jasmine Paolini won the first set and then threatened to make a serious comeback in the second after trailing 1:5 to a tiebreak. She lost it, and Madison Keys was close to success in the third part, leading 5:2 game. Unfortunately for the American, however, she injured her left leg after falling and had to receive medical attention in a timeout.
Madison Keys tried to finish the match but was having trouble walking at all, so she decided to call it quits at 5:5.
Thus continues the incredible season of Jasmine Paolini, who won the title at the WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and then reached the final of Roland Garros.
