Tokyo 2020 Olympic 100m hurdles champion Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (Puerto Rico) defeated world champion and world record holder Tobi Amusan (Nigeria) at the Diamond League tournament in Lausanne.
The Puerto Rican established herself with a new tournament record of 12.34 sec (-0.9 m/sec), while Tobi Amusan finished second with 12.45 sec. The American Tia Jones improved her personal best to 12.47 sec for third place.
Jasmine Camacho-Quinn is a Puerto Rican track and field athlete who specializes in the 100m hurdles. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she became the second person representing Puerto Rico ever to win a gold medal while representing Puerto Rico. Jasmine Camacho-Quinn participated at the 2016 Rio Olympics in her specialty event, achieving 12.70 sec in the heats, a time that would have secured her fifth place in the final. However, she was disqualified in the semi-finals after hitting a hurdle.
At the 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships she won the bronze in 100m hurdles.
