Jackline Chepkoech won the 3,000m steeplechase gold at London Diamond League and topped the world rankings for the season

The 2021 Nairobi World U20 Championships and 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games 3000m steeplechase gold medalist Jackline Chepkoech topped the world rankings for the season. The 19-year-old Kenyan athlete won the London Diamond League tournament in 8:57.35 min, setting a new tournament record and a personal best. Her compatriot and world record holder in the discipline, Beatrice Chepkoech, finished second in 9:04.34 min, and the top three was completed by
Aimee Pratt (UK) with 9:16.10 min.

With today’s achievement, Jackline Chepkoech moved to seventh place in the all-time world ranking, which is topped by Beatrice Chepkoech with 8:44.32 min from 2018.

Jackline Chepkoech is a Kenyan athlete who specializes in the 3,000m steeplechase. At the age of 18, she won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, setting the Games record in the process. She also has one Diamond League gold medal at the 2022 Brussels Memorial Van Damme with a personal best.
