Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta won the long jump title at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest

Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta won the world title in the long jump in Budapest. The 33-year-old Serbian athlete, who already has two bronze medals from the World Athletics Championships, triumphed at the National Athletic Center in Budapest with a season’s world best of 7.14m (1.2m/s). The winner of three European and two world indoor titles recorded another attempt over 7.00m – 7.05 m (0.8 m/s).

It was another major forum medal for Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta, who also has three European outdoor medals (two gold and one silver), two more from World Indoor Athletics Championships (silver and bronze) and a bronze from the Rio 2016 Olympics.

The American Tara Davis-Woodhall (USA) won the silver medal with 6.91m (0.5 m/s). In her last attempt, Alina Rotaru-Kottmann (Romania) managed to “sneak away” the bronze medal with 6.88m (1.6m/s) and left Ese Brume (Nigeria), an Olympic bronze medalist and winner of two world medals, in fourth position with 6.84m (1.2m /sec).

Larissa Iapichino (Italy), Fatima Diame (Spain), and Marthe Koala (Burkina Faso) completed the Top 7 at the competition.
