The long jumper Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta will be the big star of Serbia at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Belgrade from March 18th to 20th. The 31-year-old Olympic bronze medalist in the long jump from Rio de Janeiro 2016 has won three European indoor titles, including from Belgrade 2017.
Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta is also the current world champion under the roof of Birmingham 2018 and will certainly try to win gold again at home at the World Indoor Athletics Championships. For this purpose, Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta trains quite hard, and her husband, who is also a fitness trainer, helps with the training.
She has not yet started the 2022 season officially. In 2021, she finished fourth at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and won 4 gold medals in the Diamond League.
In 2013, Ivana Spanovic-Vuleta became the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a medal at the IAAF Outdoor World Championships. In 2018, she became the first Serbian track and field athlete to win a world senior gold medal at the IAAF Indoor World Championships. She is the Serbian record holder in the long jump, indoors and outdoors, and also she is the national indoor record holder in the 60 metres and in the pentathlon
