Italian footballer Erika Santoro

Erika Santoro is an Italian footballer who plays as a defender for Parma in Seria A Women.

Erika Santoro was born on September 3, 1999, in Ravenna, Italy. She started playing football from an early age and developed her abilities in the local clubs. At the age of 14, Erika Santoro plays in Serie B, the second level of the Italian women’s football championship, wearing the red and white shirt of San Zaccaria. For five seasons she developed her skills there and helped the club to achieve promotion to Serie A.

Erika Santoro made her debut in the Serie A on January 10, 2015, in the 0-0 draw away from home with Pink Sport Time, replacing Giorgia Galletti in the 73rd minute in the starting match, and managed to score for the first time again the leaders AGSM Verona two weeks later for the temporary equalizer in the 17th minute. Also thanks to her contribution, the regular season ends with the conquest of ninth place in the championship which, due to the regulation introduced in that season, allows you to play for the definitive salvation in the playoffs, in a single match against the Riviera di Romagna and won for 2-1.

Erika Santoro renewed the agreement with the football club from Ravenna also for the 2015-2016 season, contributing to the achievement of sixth place in Serie A and the round of 16 of the Italian Cup, and in the following one. In the 2016-2017 season, she won a starting position in the San Zaccaria squad, juggling her teammates and being called up to the U19 Italian National Team of coach Enrico Sbardella. At the end of the season, San Zaccaria conquered the eighth place in the Serie A championship standings, playing a salvation clash against Como 2000, and won 3-0 at home.

During the 2017 summer transfer market, Erika Santoro moved to Pink Sport Time. She played for the club for two seasons, both difficult, with the first ending in tenth place in the league and earning salvation only after the play-off with her previous team, and the following which sees Pink Sport Time unable to rise from the bottom of the standings, finishing eleventh in the league and thus being relegated.

In the summer of 2019, Erika Santoro reached an agreement with Sassuolo to play the 2019-2020 season with the Neroverde club. For the club, she had 44 appearances and 2 goals.

In 2022, Erika Santoro signed with parma, where she is currently playing.

At the international level, Erika Santoro played for Italy U17, Italy U19, and Italy U23, but still had not debuted for the senior national team.
