Roberta Bruni is an Italian track and field athlete, who competes in the pole vault. She is European Team Championships and World University Games winner, as well as multiple national champion. Roberta Bruni has a personal best of 4.73m, achieved in 2023 at the XXXVII Gara Internazionale di Salto con L’asta in Piazza in Chiari, Italy. Her result is within тхе world’s All-time Top 50 in the women’s pole vault and the current Italian national record.

Roberta Bruni was born on March 8, 1994, in Rome, Italy. She started in athletics at а young age and specialized in the pole vault.

Roberta Bruni started her competitive athletics and pole vault career in 2010, by winning the gold at the Rieti Indoor Meeting and the bronze at the Roma Italian Club Championships and Rieti Italian Club Championships. She competed at the Grosseto Italian Championships, but finished only 11th, before winning the silver at the Chiuro ITA-FRA-SLO U18 International Match.

In 2011, Roberta Bruni won her first junior national title, triumphing with the pole vault gold at the Ancona Italian U18 Indoor Championship. During the season, she also finished 4th at the senior Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and 5th at the Torino Italian Championships. Roberta Bruni competed at the Lille IAAF World Youth Championships, finishing 6th, but won the gold at the Trabzon 11th European Youth Olympic Festival, winning her first major international title.

In 2012, Roberta Bruni won her first national honor, earning the bronze at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. Her season continued strongly and she won the bronze at the Barcelona IAAF World Junior Championships and the silver at the Rieti 2012 IAAF World Challenge. Meanwhile, locally, she won the pole vault gold at the Rieti Italian Club Championships, Misano Adriatico Italian Junior Championships, Modena Italian Club Championships, and Rieti Italian U23 Club Championships.

Roberta Bruni won her first national title in 2013, triumphing with the gold at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships, where she set her personal best of 4.60m. During the season she won the bronze at the Milano Italian Championships and the gold at the Formia Pole Vault Meeting. She competed at the Goteborg European Indoor Championships but did not overcome the qualifications, while at the Rieti European Junior Championships, finished 5th.

Roberta Bruni dominated the local competitions in 2014, winning the Rovereto Italian Championships and later the Milano Italian Club Championships. Meanwhile, she triumphed with the silver at the Aubagne Mediterranean U23 Championships and the bronze at the Beckum Stabhochsrpungmeetin. During the season, she made her Diamond League debut at the Roma Golden Gala – Pietro Mennea and Weltklasse Zurich but missed the medals in both competitions as well as at the Zurich European Championships.

In 2015, Roberta Bruni won another national title at the Padova Italian Indoor Championships but also won the silver at the Torino Italian Championships. Meanwhile, she earned the bronze at the Rieti IAAF World Challenge and the Orleans Perche Elite Tour.

Next two seasons, Roberta Bruni did not have any serious achievements, as she competed mostly locally and won regional and junior championships, as well as the bronze at the Trieste Italian Championships in 2017 and finished 4th at the Tunis Mediterranean U23 Championships in 2016.

In 2018, Roberta Bruni won two more national titles, triumphing with the gold at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and Pescara Italian Championships.

However, in 2019, Roberta Bruni won another remarkable gold in her athletics career, triumphing at the Napoli Universiade. During the season, she also returned at the international scene, competing at the Doha IAAF World Championships in Athletics, but did not overcome the qualifications. At the national championships, she won the silver at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and the Bressanone Italian Championships.

In 2020, Roberta Bruni won the gold at the Padova Italian Championships and finished 5th at the prestigious Gala dei Castelli in Bellinzona. The next season, she marked her biggest success, competing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where unfortunately missed the overcome the qualifications. She competed also the Diamond League’s Golden Gala Pietro Mennea, Herculis in Monaco, and Muller British GP in Gateshead, but missed the honors. Meanwhile, during the season, Roberta Bruni won the gold at the Chorzow European Athletics Team Championships Super League and the silver at the Meeting Iberoamericano in Huelva, Spain. Locally, she won another national title at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and triumphed with the gold at the Rieti National Meeting, where improved her personal best to 4.70m.

Roberta Bruni won her first Diamond League honor in 2022, winning the silver at the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome. She finished 11th at the Beograd World Athletics Indoor Championships and 7th at the Munich European Athletics Championships. Locally, she triumphed with the pole vault gold at the Rieti Italian Championships and the silver at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships. Among her big achievements during the season was also the gold at the prestigious 58. Palio Città della Quercia, where she again improved her personal best to 4.72m and a national record.

In 2023, Roberta Bruni made another strong season, finishing 8th at the Istanbul European Athletics Indoor Championships. She also competed at the Budapest World Athletics Championships but did not overcome the qualifications. She won the national titles at the Molfetta Italian Championships and Ancona Italian Indoor Championships, the gold at the Grosseto Grifone Meeting and Vicenca 5° Meeting Brazzale, as well as the bronze at the Ostrava Czech Indoor Gala During the season, Roberta Bruni set her current personal best and national record at the XXXVII^ Gara Internazionale di Salto con L’asta in Piazza in Chiari.

In 2024, Roberta Bruni won another Diamond League honor, earning the silver at the Meeting International Mohammed VI d’Athletisme de Rabat/Marrakech. She finished 7th at the Roma European Athletics Championships and 10th at the Glasgow World Athletics Indoor Championships. Meanwhile, Roberta Bruni won the gold at Perche en Or in Roubaix, Memorial Jose Luis Hernandez in Pamplona, and VIII Ordizia Meeting – International Meeting Jose Antonio Pena in Ordizia, as well as the bronze at Ostrava Czech Indoor Gala and Folksam GP Stockholm Indoor. Meanwhile, she triumphed with another national title at the La Spezia Italian Championships. After the strong season, she expected the Paris 2024 Olympics, where is highly motivated to show the best of her skills.
