Giulia Valletti-Borgnini is an Italian track and field athlete, who specializes in the pole vault. She is a Mediterranean Athletics U23 Championships champion and Mediterranean U23 Indoor Championships bronze medalist, as well as the Italian Indoor Championships bronze medalist in the event.
Giulia Valletti-Borgnini was born on April 16, 2001. She started in athletics as a kid and showed her talent during the school championships.
Giulia Valletti-Borgnini started her competitive career in 2016, winning the pole vault silver at the Formia U16 Meeting with 3.20m. In the next season, she won the gold at the Agropoli Italian U18 Club Championships and the bronze at the Roma Regional Championships. Meanwhile, during the season she set her personal best of 3.55m at the Rieti Italian U18 Championships, but remained only 4th.
In 2018, Giulia Valletti-Borgnini won the pole vault gold at the Roma U18 Meeting again improving her best result to 3.60m. On the next season, she won the silver at the Rieti Regional Championships, Trofeo Citta di Orvieto, and Foggia Memorial Luigi Colella, where covered a height of 3.70m.
In 2020, Giulia Valletti-Borgnini won the pole vault bronze at the Ancona Italian U20 Indoor Championships and debuted at the national championships, finishing 9th at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and 15th at the Padova Italian Championships.
Giulia Valletti-Borgnini proved as one of the biggest pole vault talents of Italy in 2021, winning the gold at the Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships and the bronze at the Grosseto Italian U23 Championships. She finished 4th at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships and 11th at the Rovereto Italian Championships. During the season she made a personal best of 4.15m and covered the 4-meter mark at almost each of the meetings she competed.
In 2022, Giulia Valletti-Borgnini won the gold at the Pescara Mediterranean Athletics U23 Championships with a next personal best of 4.26m. Meanwhile, during the season she won the bronze at the Ancona Italian U23 Indoor Championships, and the silver at the Rieti Trofeo Perseo and Firenze Italian U23 Championships, but again missed the honors at the senior national championships.
In 2023, Giulia Valletti-Borgnini won her first national medal, winning the bronze at the Ancona Italian Indoor Championships, improving her personal best to 4.42m. She earned the bronze at the Valencia Mediterranean U23 Indoor Championships, and the gold at the Innsbruck 19.Int. Golden Roof Challenge and Agropoli Italian U23 Championships. She also competed at the Espoo European Athletics U23 Championships but did not overcome the qualifications.
