Sharon Beck is a German-Israeli footballer who plays as a midfielder for German club FC Koln. Born in Germany, but of Israeli origin, she plays for the Israel women’s national team.
Sharon Beck was born on March 22, 1995, in St Tonis, Germany. She started playing football as a kid, developing her skills at school and the youth team of Essen. She was called for the German U17 national team in 2012.
Sharon Beck made her professional debut for the senior team of SGS Essen in 2011. The team played in German Bundesliga Women and Sharon Beck was mostly a reserve. For the two seasons in the club, she had 7 appearances.
In 2013, Sharon Beck was transferred to Bayer Leverkusen. In her maiden 2013/2014 season with the club she made only a few appearances, but scored 3 goals and her team finished 7th in the standings. In the 2014/2015 season, she continued being mostly a reserve, used mostly for the German Cup matches and friendlies, but in the Bundesliga scored one goal. In the German Cup, she played one match and scored one goal versus FFC Niederkirchen in the round of 32. Sharon Beck settled as one of the important players for Bayer Leverkusen in the 2015/2016 season, appearing in 11 matches. In total for the three seasons, she had 32 matches and scored 18 goals.
In 2016, Sharon Beck was transferred to 1899 Hoffenheim, where played for two seasons. In her maiden season with the club, she made 13 appearances in the Bundesliga Women and her team finished in 7th position, while in the second season, she played in 15 matches and scored 2 goals, while her team was again in the middle of the table, finishing 8th. She played also one match and scored 2 goals in the German Cup versus FFC Niederkirchen for the 3-1 victory. Her team reached the Round of 16.
In 2018, Sharon Beck made another transfer, signing with SC Freiburg. She played two seasons in the club. At that time she was first called up to the German national team for the 2018 SheBelieves Cup, but was on the bench for all three matches, but didn’t take the field. In the 2018/2019 season, Sharon Beck had 17 matches for SC Freiburg and scored 6 goals, while in the next season had 12 appearances. In both seasons, her team finished 7th in the German Bundesliga. The same season she decided to use her Israeli citizenship and was called up to play in the Israeli national team to play in the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifications in 2019, where she had 2 appearances.
In 2020, Sharon Beck signed with FC Kohl, which is her current football club. In the 2021/2022 season, she played 18 matches in the German Bundesliga, scored 3 goals, and made one assistance. In the German Cup, she played one match and scored one goal for the team, which reached the Round of 16. In the next season, Sharon Beck continued being one of the key players for FC Koln, playing 15 matches and scoring 2 goals in the Bundesliga, where finished 7th. She also played 2 matches and scored one goal in the German Cup, where her team reached again the Round of 16. For the national team of Israel, she played in the UEFA Women’s European Championships qualifications, where appeared in 5 matches and scored one goal. In the 2023/2024 season, Sharon Beck is performing even better scoring a hattrick versus SFC Stern 1900 in the German Cup in the Round of 32. In the German Bundesliga, so far, she brought the victory to FC Koln in their first-round match versus RB Leipzig, scoring for 2-1 in the 62nd minute. She is also capping the Israeli national team, playing at the FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifications and UEFA Women’s Nations League, playing in a total of 10 matches and scoring 1 goal.
