Aoife Lynch is an Irish athlete, competing in sprints. She is a 2021 Chorzow IAAF World Relays Silver medalist and one of the biggest country talents in athletics. She is a junior national champion and national senior medalist. Her personal best are 11.63 sec in 100m, 24.17 sec in 200m, and 7.55 sec in 60m indoors.
Aoife Lynch was born on May 14, 1999. She started in athletics at school, showed great talent, and proved to be the future of the country’s athletics.
Aoife Lynch started competing in 2016, winning the silver in 200m and bronze in 100m at the Tullamore Irish Schools Championships. In 200m, she also finished 4th at the Tullamore Irish U23/U20 Championships and competed at the Tbilisi European U18 Championships. She won silver medals at the Swansea City Games in 200m outdoors and at the Athlone Irish Juvenile Indoor Championships in 200m indoors.
In 2017, she won the gold at the Tullamore Irish Juvenile Championship and bronze at the Tullamore Irish Schools Championships in 100m. She also won the silver at the Tullamore Irish U23/U20 Championships and Athlone Irish U23/U20 Indoor Championships in 200m and competed at the Grosseto European U20 Championships in the same event. During the season, she won the gold at the international event Oordegem IFAM Meeting in 4x100m.
In 2018, Aoife Lynch won the silver medals at the Tullamore Irish National League in 100m and Belfast Irish University Championships in 200m. Indoor, she won the silver at the Athlone Irish U23/U20 Indoor Championships and the Athlone Irish University Indoor Championships in 200m.
Aoife Lynch started the 2019 season with bronze at the Irish U23 Indoor Championships and Irish Indoor Championships in 200m, as well as the IUAA Indoor Championships in 60m. Outdoors she performed even better, as in 100m she won silver at the Santry AAI National League and gold at the Dublin AAI National League, as well as bronze at the Irish University Championships. In 200m outdoor, Aoife Lynch won bronze at the Irish University Championships and Irish U23 Championships, and gold at Dublin AAI National League. Her biggest achievement during the season was the bronze at the Irish Championships in 200m.
In 2020, during the indoor season, Aoife Lynch won gold at the Abbotstown AAI Indoor Games in 60m and bronze at the Irish Indoor University Championships in 200m. She also won silver at the Irish Indoor University Championships in 4x200m. Outdoors, she won the gold at the Graded Open Meeting and finished 4th at the Irish Championships in 200m.
Aoife Lynch made a fantastic season in 2021, winning the gold at the Irish U23 Championships in 100m and 200m, as well as bronze at the Irish Championships in 100m. She competed also at the European Athletics U23 Championships in 100m but failed to reach the finals. She won the gold at the 2021 Chorzow IAAF World Relays at 4x200m, which is her biggest achievement so far. During the season, Aoife Lynch competed at the European Athletics U23 Championships in 4x100m but did not win an honor.
In 2022, she missed most of the season and her biggest achievement was winning the Dublin AAI National Indoor League Round 1 in 200m.
