Irina-Camelia Begu qualified for the semifinals in WTA 250 Palermo Ladies Open

Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu qualified for the semifinals of the women’s tennis tournament on clay in Palermo.

The sixth-seeded Romanian tennis player eliminated 19-year-old Diane Parry of France with 2-0 (6:1, 6:3) and reached this stage of the tournament for the second time since 2012 when she lost to Sara Errani. In a dispute for a place in the final, the Romanian will meet the fourth-seeded Sara Sorribes Tormo from Spain, who in another quarter-final match beat Anna Bondar from Hungary with 2-0 (6:2, 6:3).

In the other semifinal of the tournament in Palermo will play the Italians Jasmine Paolini and Lucia Bronzetti. Jasmine Paolini defeated Nuria Parrizas-Diaz with 2-1 (6:7, 7:5, 6:2), while Lucia Bronzetti eliminated Caroline Garcia with 2-1 (3:6, 7:5, 6:3).
