Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek won the title of the WTA 1000 Qatar Open in Doha. Iga Swiatek defeated the Estonian Anett Kontaveit with 2-0 (6:2, 6:0) in an hour and 6 minutes. This is the second trophy for the 20-year-old Polish tennis player from the series of women’s tennis tournaments with the rank WTA 1000.
The seventh-seeded Iga Swiatek did not leave any chances to his rival and allowed Anett Kontaveit to win only two games in the whole match
In the first set, Iga Swiatek led by 2:1 after a break, but in turn, lost her serve game and the Estonian equalized. By the end, however, the Polish tennis player made two more breaks and won four consecutive games to close the set by 6:2.
Anett Kontaveit failed to win a single game in the second set, conceding three breaks and losing by 6:0, and the 2020 French Open champion Iga Swiatek rejoiced in the trophy.
She made 5 aces in the match and won 74% of the points on the first serve.
In the route to the trophy, Iga Swiatek defeated sixth-seeded Maria Sakkari in the semi-finals, top-seeded and former champion Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter-finals, as well as Daria Kasatkina and Viktorija Golubic.
