Women’s tennis number one Iga Swiatek won her fourth title of the year. The Polish tennis player triumphed at her home tournament WTA 250 Warsaw Open with a prize fund of 259,303 USD.
In the final, the top-seeded Iga Swiatek defeated Laura Siegemund (Germany) by 2-0 (6:0, 6:1) in just 69 minutes of play. In this way, she won the title in her hometown for the first time.
Iga Swiatek had complete superiority in the match, and this is most definitely proven by the points won on the second serve. The Polish tennis player won 13 of 15 games on her second serve, while Laura Siegemund didn’t win a single point the entire match when she missed her first serve.
Earlier in the day, Iga Swiatek played her semi-final with Yanina Wickmayer (Belgium). The match was stopped at 5:5 in the second set due to darkness. The Polish player reached success in a tiebreak to set the final 2-0 (6:1, 7:6).
For Iga Swiatek, the title from Warsaw is number 15 in her career.
