The world’s number one Iga Swiatek qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 250 Bad Homburg Open grass tennis tournament with a prize pool of 259,000 USD. The top-seeded Polish player won easily by 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) against Anna Blinkova (Russia) in 1:13 hours of play.

Iga Swiatek, who is a three-time Roland Garros champion, won her tenth consecutive success this season. She achieved a total of three breaks on the Anna Blinkova’s serve and ended the match in 72 minutes.

“I’m happy to play so solidly. I don’t play on grass courts often and I’m glad I was able to make the most of the time between Roland Garros and Wimbledon. I feel confident and will give it my all in the next two weeks”, said Iga Swiatek. She is playing for the first time since successfully defending her French Open title.

Iga Swiatek will play for the first time in a semi-final in a grass tournament, facing Lucia Bronzetti (Italy), who eliminated Varvara Gracheva (France) by 2-0 (6:4, 6:3) in 1:14 hours of play.

The second semi-final will face Emma Navarro (USA), who qualified after retiring of Rebeka Masarova (Canada) in the second set of their quarter-final match) and the winner between Katerina Siniakova (Czech Republic) and the 2nd-seeded Liudmila Samsonova (Russia), which was interrupted at 1-1 (7:5, 4:6) and will be continued today.
