Iga Swiatek smashed Sorana Cirstea at the start of the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open

The top-seeded and world’s number one Iga Swiatek (Poland) started the defense of her title at the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doha with an express win versus Sorana Cirstea (Romania) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:1).

The Polish tennis player broke her opponent two times in the first set and three times in the second to reach the victory and qualify for the third round of the tournament, where will face the inner between the Russian tennis talents Erika Andreeva and Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The former world’s number one Naomi Osaka (Japan) achieved a success at the start of the WTA 1000 Qatar TotalEnergies Open after defeating Caroline Garcia (France) by 2-0 (7:5, 6:4), while the Czech tennis talent Linda Noskova eliminated Bernarda Pera (USA) by 2-0 (6:3, 7:6).

Marie Bouzkova (Czech Republic) also reached the second round after eliminating Sofia Kenin (USA) by 2-1 (7:5, 2:6, 7:5).
