Iga Swiatek qualified for the semi-finals of the WTA 500 Ostrava Open after a victory over the American tennis player Caty McNally by 2-0 (6:4, 6:4). The match lasted almost two hours and the world’s number one did not give much chances to her opponent.
The first set was running game-for-game and even both exchanged a break in the middle of the set. However, in the decisive 10th game at 5:4, Iga Swiatek made a break on zero and won the set
The second set was not much different, as the result was equal by 5:4, when Caty McNally served to stay in the match, but Iga Swiatek made a break again on zero and won the match.
In the semi-finals, Iga Swiatek will face Ekaterina Alexandrova, who defeated Tereza Martincova by 2-1 (6:1, 4:6, 6:1).
In the other matches from the WTA 500 Ostrava Open of the day, Barbora Krejcikova defeated Alycia Parks by 2-0 (7:6, 6:3) and qualified for the semi-finals, where will face Elena Rybakina, who eliminated Petra Kvitova by 2-0 (7:6, 6:4).
