Iga Swiatek qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Qatar TotalEnergies Open in Doha with a prize fund of 780,000 USD. Last year’s champion easily defeated Danielle Collins 2-0 (6:0, 6:1). The world’s number one did not allow the American to reach a single break point and ended the match in just 54 minutes. In the next round, the 21-year-old Iga Swiatek will face Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic.

Maria Sakkari (Greece) also advances in the Qatari capital after a 2-0 (6:3, 6:2) success against Ekaterina Alexandrova.

The fifth representative of Greece won the first part after a decisive breakthrough for 5:3. The Russian twice lost her serve in the second set and trailed 0:3, after which Sakari had no problems closing the match in 1:22 hours.
