The top-seeded Iga Swiatek (Poland) qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 Warsaw Open hard court tennis tournament. The leader in the world rankings won easily by 2-0 (6:2, 6:2) against Claire Liu (USA).
The Pole made five breaks in total to just one for the American and wrapped up the match at her first opportunity after an hour and 38 minutes of play.
In the next round, the 22-year-old Iga Swiatek will face the 8th-seeded Linda Noskova. The Czech eliminated Viktoria Hruncakova (Slovakia) after 2-0 (6:3, 6:3) in 67 minutes of play
The 2nd-seeded Karolina Muchova (Czech Republic) ended her participation in the tournament in Warsaw after losing surprisingly to Rebecca Sramkova (Slovakia) by 1-2 (5:7, 6:3, 5:7).
Meanwhile, Lucrezia Stefanini (Italy), Laura Siegemund (Germany) and Heather Watson (Great Britain) also qualified for the quarter-finals.
