The Polish tennis player defeated Sara Sorribes Tormo (Spain) by 2-0 (6:1, 6:0) in 67 minutes. She won the last 12 games of the match and dropped just five points in the second set.
Iga Swiatek, who lost the tournament final to Aryna Sabalenka last year, reached her fifth quarter-final of 2024. In the next round, the Polish tennis player will face the 11th-seeded Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil), who eliminated the 5th-seeded Maria Sakkari (Greece) after 2-0 (6:4, 6:4) in 1:49 hours.
The 8th-seeded and champion from 2022 Ons Jabeur (Tunisia) advanced ahead in the tournament after a success over 9th-seeded Jelena Ostapenko (Latvia) with 2-0 (6:0, 6:4) in 67 minutes.
Ons Jabeur won her ninth consecutive match in the tournament and will play in a second quarter-final of 2024 and recorded a third success in five matches against Jelena Ostapenko.
