Szonja Stollar is a Hungarian volleyball player, who plays as an outside hitter for the Park University women’s volleyball team. She had played for Hungary’s U17 national team at the European Championships U17.
Szonja Stollar was born on March 21, 2003 in Mogyorod, Hungary. She started in volleyball at an early age and developed her skills on the school team. She showed great talent and joined the youth club Bekescsabai Roplabda SE, even debuting for the second team in 2017. Already in 2017, she was called to the Hungary youth national team for the European Championship Qualification U16.
In 2018, Szonja Stollar joined UTE Budapest. The team was playing at the Hungarian Extraliga, but due to lack of experience, she was sent to the second team to improve her skills in the lower leagues. In 2018, she was called for the Hungrian U17 national team to play at the European Championships U17, where finished in 12th position.
Szonja Stollar showed that she is one of the most talented Hungarian volleyball players. She turned her focus on beach volleyball during the next two seasons, playing at the Hungarian Championships 2020 with Katalin Zsuzsanna Kovacs and Hungarian Tour Tata 2021 and Women Hungarian Tour Gyenesdias 2021 with Anna Szabo.
In 2022, Szonja Stollar attended Park University in the USA and joined the women’s volleyball team, which is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics and the American Midwest Conference. In her first season with the Pirates, they finished 5th at the NAIA and second at the Heart of America Athletic Conference 2022/2023.
