Hungarian tennis babe Fanny Stollar

Fanny Stollar is a Hungarian tennis player, who has won two doubles titles on the WTA Tour and one doubles title on the WTA Challenger Tour, as well as one singles title and thirteen doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit. Her best singles WTA ranking is the world’s No 114, achieved on November 19, 2018.

Fanny Stollar was born on November 12, 1998, in Budapest, Hungary. She started in tennis as a kid. She developed her talent and proved to be one of the most prominent young Hungarian tennis players. In 2015, she won the Wimbledon girls’ doubles title, partnering Dalma Galfi. As a junior, she also won the titles at the Junior Open Radenci and Krka Sun Mix Cup U12 in 2010, Emilio Sanchez Academy Youth Cup U14 and Gutysport Tennis Europe in 2011, Eddie Herr International Junior Tennis Championships and Pecs Junior Tennis Cup in 2012, J100 Timisoara \ Deltatel- Tivoli Trophy Timisoara, J60 Beer Sheva \ Alex Podolsky ITF Junior Tournament, and HAP International Junior Tournament in 2013. However, her biggest achievements were winning the European Junior Championships in 2014, reaching the semi-finals of the Junior Orange Bowl in 2012, and being the runner-up at the J1 Carson \ USTA International Spring Championships in 2015. Fanny Stollar reached the semi-finals of the US Open Junior and the quarter-finals of the French Open Junior in 2015. She also competed at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

Fanny Stollar made her professional debut in 2014 at the $15,000 Amstelveen (Netherlands), where reached the semi-finals. During the season, she also played at the $50,000 W60 Toronto (Canada), but lost in the first round.

In 2015, Fanny Stollar played her first final at the $15,000 W15 Orlando, FL, losing to Claire Liu (USA). Two months later, however, she won her first ITF title, winning the trophy of the $15,000 Galati (Romania). During the season, she also played at the $10,000 Petit Bourg (France), $25,000 Winnipeg (Canada), $50,000 Victoria (Mexico), $50,000 Saguenay (Canada), and $50,000 W60 Toronto (Canada).

Fanny Stollar started the 2016 season entirely playing at the ITF tour and trying to capture more prestigious trophies, gaining more points for the WTA ranking. She reached the quarter-finals at the $25,000 Puebla (Mexico) and $80,000+H Olomouc (Czech Republic), as well as the semi-finals of the $100,000 Budapest (Hungary) and $60,000 Las Vegas, NV (USA). In November she made her WTA 125 debut, playing in the main scheme of the WTA 125 Hawaii Open, but lost in the first round to Katie Swan (UK).

In 2017, Fanny Stollar debuted in the main scheme of the WTA Tour, playing at the WTA 250 Hungarian Ladies Open, where reached the second round. Two months later, she reached the third round of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open and the quarter-finals of the $60,000 Dothan, AL (USA). During the season, she played also at the WTA 250 Coupe Banque Nationale présentée par Mazda, WTA 125 Hua Hin Championships and, WTA 125 L&T Mumbai Open, but lack of experience did not allow her to make some bigger achievements.

Fanny Stollar continue performing strongly in 2018, starting the season with a semi-final at the $25,000 Toyota (Japan) and the third round of the WTA 500 Credit One Charleston Open. She also was the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Rome (Italy) and the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Nurnberger Versicherungs. After reaching the second rounds of the $100,000 W100 Surbiton (UK), WTA 250 Libema Open, and WTA 250 Citi Open, as well as the quarter-finals of the WTA 250 Tashkent Open, she climbed to her career-highest WTA position of world’s No 114.

The seasons 2019 and 2020 were not much successful for Fanny Stollar, with her biggest achievements being only the second rounds of the WTA 250 Palermo Ladies Open and WTA 125 Oracle Challenger Series in Houston. Moreover, she ended the season 2020 earlier due to injury.

In 2021, Fanny Stollar returned on the court playing at the ITF Circuit. She was the runner-up at the $25,000 W25 Kyiv (Ukraine) and $25,000 W25 Ourense (Spain).

In 2022, she reached the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Nottingham (UK) and the quarter-finals of the $25,000 W25+H Palma del Rio (Spain) and $25,000 W25 Eupen (Belgium).

Fanny Stollar started the 2023 season very strongly, reaching the semi-finals of the $25,000 W25 Loughborough (UK) and $25,000 W25 Zephyrhills, FL (USA), as well as the quarter-finals of the $25,000 W25 Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). In May she won another ITF title at the $25,000 W25 Orlando, FL (USA), and in July performed strongly at the WTA 250 Hungarian Grand Prix, where reached the quarter-finals.
