Hristina Vuchkova signed with the champion of Italy and Europe Imoco Volley Conegliano

The Bulgarian volleyball national player Hristina Vuchkova signed officially with the champion of Italy and Europe Imoco Volley Conegliano, the club announced a few minutes ago.

The Bulgarian has to replace the injured Sarah Fahr in the team. The 20-year-old Italian middle blocker broke a cruciate ligament in her right knee during a match at Eurovolley 2021 and will undergo surgery next week. The other main blocker of the “Panthers” Raphaela Folie is long-term injured, and she is about to recover for 18 weeks.

Thus, the team of Imoco Volley Conegliano turned to the experienced Bulgarian, who is still a blocker No 1 of Eurovolley 2021 with a great 25 blocks, 8 of which in the dramatic loss to Sweden with a 2:3 in the Round of 16 on Saturday.

Last season, Hristina Vuchkova played for the Turkish team PTT Spor, becoming the best blocker of the championship. If the transfer becomes a fact, Imoco Volley Conegliano will be the third Italian team for the Bulgarian after Bergamo (2011/12) and in Modena (2013/14). Hristina Vuchkova also played in the championship of Azerbaijan, and in Turkey she wears the shirts of Nilufer Belediye and Galatasaray (Istanbul).
