Bulgaria’s national volleyball player Hristina Vuchkova wished success to Maritsa (Plovdiv) in their match against Eczacibasi Dynavit (Istanbul) in the Champions League and admitted that she has not yet adapted to her new team Fenerbahce.
Hristina Vuchkova shared her first impressions of her new team after playing her second game for Fenerbahce against Stuttgart. The clash took place immediately before the match of the Bulgarian champion against the bronze medalist of the last world club championship.
In the match at the “Burhan Felek” hall in Istanbul, Fenerbahce defeated the German team with a 3-1 in a match of group “D” of the Champions League, and the Bulgarian athlete recorded 7 points.
“It was an extremely difficult match that we had to win. It turned out to be quite a tense match because we had to win to keep our chances of going forward to the eliminations in the Champions League. We didn’t do very well in the previous group matches, but Stuttgart is an extremely strong team who hardly make mistakes and fight until the end. We had to be very focused all the time to be able to counter them. I’m glad that we were able to adapt quickly to their difficult style and reach the final success”, said Hristina Vuchkova after the match.
For the former Maritsa (Plovdiv) volleyball player, it was the second game for the Fenerbahce team after she joined.
“I can’t say that I have adapted to my new team yet. I still need to get used to the rhythm of the game, there is a quite different style and demands on me here. I hope I can fit into the team quickly to I can show the best of my game to help the team”, added the volleyball player.
Hristina Vuchkova admitted that she is pleased that her former team Maritsa will play today in Istanbul and stayed in the stands to support her former team.
