Hellen Obiri confirmed to run the Houston Half Marathon on January

Reigning New York Marathon champion Hellen Obiri has confirmed that she will run the Houston Half Marathon on January 14, 2024.

“I want to run the marathon at the Paris 2024 Olympics, so running a few half marathons is an important part of my preparation”, said Hellen Obiri.

She had a strong season in 2023 and won both marathons he entered in his outgoing year. The two-time 5,000-meter world champion earned first-place finishes at the Boston and New York marathons.

Meanwhile, less than ten months after winning the Dubai Marathon, Ethiopian star Dera Dida has confirmed she will return to defend her women’s title on January 7. Earlier this year, she won the race in 2:21:11 hours.

Dera Dida Yami competed in the women’s 10,000m at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics, ranking 14th in 31:51:75. In 2019, she won the silver medal in the senior women’s race at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships held in Aarhus, Denmark. At the 2019 African Games, she won the bronze medal in the women’s 10,000m event.
