The 2022 Eugene World Athletics Championships bronze medalist in javelin throw Haruka Kitaguchi won the Silesia Diamond League event in Poland with a season’s world best of 67.04m. Haruka Kitaguchi won an individual gold medal at the Youth World Championships. At the 2022 World Athletics Championships she won a bronze medal, which made her the first Japanese woman to win a medal in any throwing event at a World Championships or Olympics.
Meanwhile, in women’s hammer throw, Brooke Andersen (USA) again dominated the sector with 75.40m, followed by her compatriot Janee’ Kassanavoid with 74.27m and Sara Fantini (Italy) with 72.96m.
