Haruka Kitaguchi won the javelin throw diamond trophy in Eugene

Japanese athlete Haruka Kitaguchi won the javelin throw diamond trophy in Eugene after smashing the competition with 63.78m. This is her first Diamond League Final trophy for the 2023 Budapest world champion and the 2022 Eugene bronze medalist in the event.

The silver went to Tori Peeters (Australia) with 61.30m and the bronze went toher compatriot Mackenzie Little with 61.24m.

In the discus throw event, Valarie Allman (USA) won her second diamond trophy after triumphing with 68.66m. The silver went to the 2023 Budapest world champion Laulauga Tausaga (USA) with 68.36m

The Croatian super-star in the event Sandra Perkovic, who is six-time diamond trophy winner, two-time Olympic and world champion, as well as six-time European champion, remained with the bronze after throwing the discus in 66.85m in her first attempt, but failed to improve it by the end.

Jorinde van Klinken (Netherlands) and Kristin Pudenz (Germany) completed the top 5, but remined out of the honors zone.
